What we do to keep Matchy Matchy respectful, and what you can do to protect yourself.

Verification

Every blue badge is checked by hand

To get the badge, you send a selfie and a photo of your ID. A team member compares the two. Until that is done: no badge, no video calls, no Surprise video.

  • Private documents · stored separately, out of public reach, never shown or shared.
  • 18 and over · age is checked on the ID.

Your tools

Block and report

Everywhere in the app, you can block or report someone: profile, conversation, room, Blind date, call. A blocked person can no longer see you, like you or write to you.

  • During a Surprise video · reporting ends the call immediately and blocks the person.
  • Block list · find and manage it in your settings.

Privacy

Your details stay yours

Your email, phone number and documents are never shown to other members. You decide what you share on your profile.

  • This or that · only compatibility percentages are visible.
  • Deletion · delete your account and your data at any time.

Moderation

People read every report

The moderation team handles reports, removes inappropriate content and bans accounts that break the rules, temporarily or permanently.

  • Fake profiles · removed as soon as they are spotted.
  • Harassment · zero tolerance.

Tips for a first date

Get to know them in the app

Talk, have a video call, and take your time before sharing your number.

Pick a public place

A busy café, a terrace, a mall. Never someone's home for a first date.

Tell someone close

Let someone know where you are going, with whom, and when you plan to be back.

Stay independent

Get there and back on your own.

Never send money

Nobody should ask you for money, phone credit or codes. Report it right away.

Trust your instinct

If something makes you uncomfortable, leave, block and report. You don't owe anyone an explanation.
